A.We can put you on a waiting list and call you if that week becomes available again.  If you want to be put on a waiting list please email Shannon: info@innerlightsurfcamp.com or call at: (850) 434-6743

Q. What if there are weather problems?
A. We will contact you ASAP if the weather does not permit us to have camp.  We will try to push back start time or extend the time of camps on other days.

Q. What if there is red flags or a hurricane?
A. We will cancel camp and try to reschedule.  If we cannot reschedule then we will refund the cost of camp.  We will always call you if camp is canceled.

Q. Can I sign up now and pay later?
A. No.  Full registration is only complete when all forms are filled out and payment is made in full.

Q. What is a rashguard and why do I need it?
A. A rashguard is a thin lycra top worn over your bathing suit.  It helps protect from a rash as well as the sun.

Q. Do you offer transportation?
A. No.  Participants must be dropped off and picked up from camp site.

Q. Can the parents stay and watch/leave?
A. Parents can do whatever they feel comfortable.  Some parents stay and watch and even get in the water with the participants, other leave and pick up the participants when camp is over.

Q. Where exactly is the Pensacola Beach Camp located?
A. The parking lot just west of Portofino.

Q. What is the instructor to student ratio?
A. There is 1 instructor to every 5 participants

Q. How many participants are accepted each week?
A. Usually between 25-35, we only allow enough participants to still maintain the ratio of 1 instructor to 5 participants.

Q. What are the ages of the participants?
A. The participants must be at least 8 years old.  We have had ages ranging from 8-50, but the average age is 13.

Q. What if the participant isn’t a good swimmer?
A. If you are not comfortable with your child’s swimming ability, then we suggest you do not do surf camp.  Participants should be able to easily tread water and not require a life vest.

Q. Can I bring my own board?
A. We prefer if you do not.  Due to problems with damaged, lost, and stolen boards, we ask that you use the boards we provide.

Q. What if the waves are small?
A. We would actually prefer the waves to be too small then too big.  We can still teach participants how to paddle, stand up, etc.  We also have other activities and games on standby if the conditions are too small.

Q. What if there are jellyfish?
A. Unfortunately there are jellyfish in the Gulf.  We provide a concoction that helps alleviate the pain, and try to keep the participants on the boards as much as possible.

Q. Are there refunds if I can't make it?
A. No.  We only allow you to transfer dates.  We also require at least a 3 day notice if you need to switch dates.
